Workshop program
2:15-3:15pm Yoga for complete beginners
This class is for everyone that has never stepped onto a yoga mat before, or would like to have a refresher on the foundations.  We will learn how to breathe efficiently, the basic movement patterns of a sun salutation (the perfect warm-up pre ride), practice some deep hip opening stretches, activate the core muscles and open the upper back and chest.  There will be lots of props on hand (blocks and straps) to allow the yoga postures to be accessible to everyone.  Remember that yoga is not a competition - each body is unique and we work with what our bodies need in the present moment depending on your recent training and past injuries.

3:30-4:30pm Yin Yoga

The second class will be focused on Yin yoga and restorative yoga (using props such as bolsters and straps) with long, slow gravity assisted postures to release the muscle as well as fascia.  We will also learn self massage techniques taken from Thai and Japanese massage and using tennis balls for trigger point massage.  We'll touch on some breathing techniques and close with a refreshing "legs up the wall" posture, a perfect way to drain lactic acid out of the legs.  This class is also perfect for beginner students and a Yin practice is the perfect compliment to the Yang (such as hard efforts on the bike).

4:40-5:40pm Vinyasa flow yoga for cyclists

This will be a lead vinyasa flow class to link breath to movement and strengthen the body, including yoga postures to specifically release the hip flexors and strengthen the back extensor and abdominal muscles.  The class will close with a guided meditation and yoga nidra (sleep).  This class is perfect for cyclists that have some yoga experience.

Handouts will be supplied for all classes.

Pricing

Investment is $23 per 1 hour class, or $40 for 2 classes, $50 to attend the whole day.  Concession card holders and past workshop students can enroll  for $18 per class (please contact me for the discount code to use at checkout).  Price includes equipment hire fee (bolster, strap, block and mat if you require) and handouts.  Please bring your own water and towels.
I strongly recommend beginner students attend class 1 and 2, with experienced students attending class 2 and 3 to get the most of out both styles of yoga practice (yin and yang).

On The Day
Registration for each event will commence from 10mins before start time.
Please bring with you a large towel (e.g. bath towel), small hand towel and yoga mat (if you own one, otherwise mats are available for use on site).
Unfortunately there are no refunds for the event, but you can transfer the booking to another person if you are unable to come.

Strictly limited to 20 guests per class.
